HELMIBOND 890 is a versatile vinyl acetate adhesive with excellent bonds to a wide range of materials beyond wood. Designed primarily for automated and manual postforming machinery, it can be sprayed or roll-coated for hot bonding, hot pressing, hot roll laminating, cold pressing, and pinch-roll-and-stack flat laminating. Its very high solids content reduces warping compared to low-solids alternatives and boosts coverage per gallon.
Also makes an excellent melamine glue. Apply at 6–8 wet mils film thickness. Atomization pressure 40–60 psi, fluid pressure 25–30 psi. For pinch rolling, HPL and core temperature should be 43–49°C (110–120°F).
