Slide a cabinet door out of the opening and back along the side panel, leaving the front clear. Sugatsune's pocket door system, distributed by PACO Hardware, is built for overlay doors and includes soft-close so the door does not slam shut. It covers cabinet heights from 31 1/2 to 94 1/2 inches across four height ranges. Slide lengths run from 16 1/4 to 28 1/4 inches to match the cabinet.
Overlay pocket doors sit proud of the cabinet face when closed, then pull forward and slide sideways into the cabinet body when opened. Matching the height range and slide length to the cabinet keeps that motion smooth, and soft-close is built into every size.
